Extra Curricular & Co-Curricular Activities
a. Additional Module on International Business Management
Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization has been the buzzword during decade of 1990s. World is fast becoming a small global village due to technological revolutions in the areas of information(IT), communication and transportation. Business operations are also becoming global in nature. Keeping in mind the needs of changing business requirements, Additional Module on “International Business Management” has been conducted during the months of August - November 2010 to enable students to cope up with the corporate requirements. Prof Atma Prakash, Ex Prof. IIFT, & Other eminent speakers enlightened the students with their rich experiences. Certificates were awarded to students with A+, A and B grades depending upon their participation and merit.

b. Special / Guest Lectures
So as to ensure continuous learning & exposure to latest concepts and
developments, the Institute regularly organizes special / guest lectures as
under:
  • Prof (Dr.) S K Mittal delivered a special lecture on “Scope & Challenges for
    Entrepreneurs” on October 21, 2010.
  • Prof (Dr.) S K Jain delivered a special lecture on “ Indian SMEs: Success Strategy through IPRs” on September 23, 2010.
  • A special talk was delivered by Ms. Anushka Maheshwari on Aug 13, 2010 on the topic “Blend of Marketing and IT”, highlighting all pervasiveness of IT in commerce and management.
  • A session on “ Contribution of ERP-SAP towards Effective Management ” was conducted by Softech Multimedia Solutions on Aug 10, 2010



1. A special lecture on “The Intricacies of the Corporate World” was delivered by Mrs Achala Prasad, senior expert from the corporate sector in the month of February 2010.

c. Industrial Visits
All functional areas are inter-related. Production / Operation Centres demonstrate the coordinated & integrated working of different functions/ departments in an organization. So as to enable students to get grasp of industry working, the Institute regularly organizes Industrial Visits. Recent forays have been as under:

  • Britannia Industries Ltd.

d. Personality Development Classes
The Institute regularly organizes personality development classes to facilitate alround development of students.
  • Transition Consultancy conducted the following PDP classes recently during July & August 2010:
    1. Effective Communication Skills
    2. Group Decision Skills
    3. Extempore
    4. Stress Management
    5. Making first impression
    6. Mock Interviews

  • A special lecture was conducted by British Cottage on the topic “Corporate Training” on Aug 11, 2010.

e. Other Co-curricular Activities
In addition to above, the Institute organizes series of programs and functions for the welfare of benefits of students.

2.  A Summer Training Report Presentation Competition was held on Aug 20 and Aug 21, 2010. Senior external experts namely Prof S L Aggarwal, Prof. (Dr.) A.

S. Ahluwalia & Dr. N K Gupta were guests of honor. Certificates of Excellence were awarded to following top presenters / winners:

  • Ms. Preeti Chauhan – I (Mktg)
  • Mr. Hitesh Kumar – I (Finance)


2. 3. An Orientation Programme was organised on Aug 2, 2010 for New Batch of PGDM 1st Sem students in order to apprise them about 2 Year Full Time Management Programme and motivate them in career building. Key note address was delivered by Sh K S Maheshwari, Executive Director, DPC. Prof S L Aggarwal, Advisor, DPC-IM also motivated the budding managers.
3. An Inaugural Function was organized for the students of PGDM 2nd sem on July 14, 2010, marking their transition to next higher level.

5. A farewell Party was organized by the student of PGDM II Sem students for the outgoing batch to wish them a best of luck in future endeavor in the month of April 1, 2010.
4. 6. National Productivity Week was celebrated with full zeal from Feb12- Feb18, 2010 with the underlying theme being “Productivity through Inclusive Growth”. Students of PGDM programme participated in different events like
    1. Debate
    2. Quiz
    3. Poster making Competition
    4. Essay writing
    5. Street Play
    6. PowerPoint presentation etc

7. Republic Day was celebrated on Jan 25, 2010 with full enthusiasm & festive spirits. National Flag was unfurled by Sh. Savitur Prasad, IAS, Secretary, Deptt of IT, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Sh Prasad asked everyone to carry ahead march of freedom.
